Training practice

The surgery is a training practice for doctors who are medically qualified but need to complete their training as general practitioners. In order to provide experience for them, they will see patients themselves and all patients will have the opportunity then to accept an appointment with a registrar or to see their usual doctor.

From time to time, we may have medical or nursing students with us; they spend time observing doctors and nurses during consultations, as part of their final training. If we have a student in attendance at the surgery, all patients due to see a particular doctor or nurse will be asked whether they are happy for a student to sit in on their consultation.
